In collaboration with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, we started an initiative to get people to recycle its batteries. One of the goals of the Batteriboet is to reduce the amount of waste. In the long run, we hope that more people will start using rechargeable batteries. That's the main goal. Consumers get Batteriboet when they buy batteries at selected stores in Sweden.​

Bjurtech is a company which has designed and prototyped a 100% solar powered boat - `Freepower´- to combat global warming and fuel poverty in the fishing industry. The aim with Freepower is to replace fossil fules in the maritime sector with renewable alternatives. Therefore, they have developed an electricy boat that is self-sufficient with solar energy​.

It has received a lot of international attention as the WEF (World Economic Forum) has selected Freepower as one of 12 Top Innovators globally in their "The Coastal Tourism Challange". In addition it has won electrical boat competitions such as  Guisses Award 2021, Grunderprisen 2021, and the Nordic top 50.

Cebon Group has, together with Bjurtech, invested resources to develop this electric boat that now is available for sale.

Freepower

As Cebon Group was born and raised on of Sweden's largest islands, the sea has always been close in mind and soul. Thus, when the opportunity to invest in the blue economy emerged, it was a given call.

More than 10 years ago, a man called François-Alexandre Bertrand, was diving in Australia on the Great Barrier Reef. He realised that diving and going by boat were two compleately different experiences. Thus, an idea was then born, to develop something which more or less could combine these two experiences.

Platypus is a semi submersible boat which can be useful in many different ways. For the environmental cause, it can be used for excavations and conservations in the ocean; cleaning the ocean and exploring the biodiversity. It is also something which can be used by underwater workers, as well as tourists.

Since 2017, Cebon Group has worked together with Trine. Trine’s mission is to make it easier for private investors and companies to invest in solar energy in growing markets.

Throughout the years, the partnership has contributed to many impactful investments. For instance, GP Batteries have had a campaign called Green investment, where an amount from each sold battery and lightning product were invested in several projects which contributes to more people getting access to clean energy in the form of solar energy.

Our most recent investment was in a green logistical provider, Bisedge Limited, where the objective is to phase out diesel generated machines used in the logistical sector in Nigeria, and instead provide with for example modern electric vehicles. At the same time, Bisedge establishes a training academy for female professionals within the sector, to increase the number of women in the sector.

So far, in total our investments have contributed to providing approximately 16 000 people with electricity and avoided around 7 000 tons of CO2.
